Measurement and analysis of the DAB system
Kaštánek, Petr ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the measurement and analysis the performance of the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. Theoretical part of the work contains a brief description of the signal processing chain of DAB. Attention is devoted to physical layer (PHY). In the experimental part of the work is designed and implemented laboratory measuring workplace for reception, processing and evaluation of DAB signal. The RTL2832U software defined radio (SDR) is used as a receiver of the DAB signal. The functionality of the proposed concept is verified by a detailed measurement.
Multimode VHF Broadcasting Receiver
Hradňanský, Vladimír ; Ing. Vladimír Hubík, Ph.D, (referee) ; Šebesta, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design a microprocessor-controlled multimode VHF radio can receive AM, FM and DAB. The first step is to become familiar with digital radio broadcasting DAB and RDS. Then we can proceed to the design of the receiver circuit solution using modern component base. Next it is necessary to write utility software and construct a prototype of receiver, verify its functionality and parameters. The result of the work is the multi-mode VHF broadcasting receiver controlled using touch screen display and supported by web management.
Analysis of the transmission in the mobile digital audio broadcasting
Kresta, Daniel ; Ulovec,, Karel (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with an analysis of a system called Digital Audio Broadcast and describes its mathematical model created in MATLAB program. In the first part basic blocks of a transmitter and a receiver are analyzed along with their principles. Then different types of transmission channels for static, portable and mobile receivers are described. The second part contains description of the DAB mathematical model itself. Individual blocks are described in the order of the DAB signal path, from the transmitter through the transmission channel to the receiver side. In this part the graphical user interface is also described. In the final part the results of experimental measurements and simulations are presented.
Laboratory Workplace For Performance Measurement Of The Dab/Dab+ System
Kaštánek, Petr
In this paper, a simple laboratory measurement workplace, proposed for educational purposes, to measure the performance of the DAB/DAB+ signal is presented. The RTL2832U software defined radio (SDR) is used as a receiver of the DAB signal in the measurement setup. Freeware available program DAB Player is used to analyze the DAB signal on the objective and subjective level. The functionality of the proposed concept as well as the applied measurement methodology is verified by simple experimental measurements.
Performance Of Digital Audio Broadcasting In Mobile Reception Scenarios
Kresta, Daniel
This paper presents the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) standard and its implementation into a simulation model. The negative influences of a transmission channel on the DAB signal are analyzed and emulated in the simulation with a focus on a mobile reception. Overall simulation model containing a transmitter, the transmission channel and a receiver was realized in a MATLAB environment. Multiple simulations of the DAB signal transmission in different conditions were performed and evaluated, with an emphasis on the mobile reception scenario. These results are presented along with a discussion.

Multimode VHF Receiver
Hradňanský, Vladimír
The aim of this work is to design a microprocessor-controlled multimode VHF radio which can receive AM, FM and DAB. The design of the receiver circuits comes from the singlechip programmable defined radio Si4689 which covers all required modes. The control unit based on RTOS SC23 processor contains a firmware which ensures all needed function of the prototype. The firmware has been verified including testing of all parameters. A multi-mode FM radio, MP3 player and on-line radio stream player operated via touch green and remote control and supported web management is the final result of this work.
